ISC received our first outsourced
sub-assemblies in 1990. Case Corporation awarded ISC the Burlington
Backhoe tire mounting and cylinder gland & piston assembly projects,
both of which we maintain today. These programs are very different
from each other, but our dedication to quality, price and on-time
delivery has not only allowed us to continue this business, but to
expand it as well.

Tire mounting is an assembly project that has seen tremendous growth for ISC. It started with backhoes and forklifts tires, but has grown in both size and complexity. Currently, ISC continues to mount tires for backhoes and forklifts, as well as cultivation and forestry equipment, combines, skid steers, mini-backhoes and small tractors. Additionally we perform assemblies for tire and wheel suppliers in North America. Each of these programs is handled differently, from complete consignment to complete purchasing to a little of both. Because of our experience base, dedication to quality, ability to maintain accurate inventories and on-time delivery, our suppliers continue to push ISC as the tire mounter for their other accounts. John Deere, Volvo, Komatsu, CNH, AGCO, TUG and JCB are all companies in various stages of negotiations with ISC
This project has been with ISC since 1991 and continues today. ISC purchases the complete bill of material used in cylinders for major OEM customers. Due to the critical nature of this assembly, material is prepped, assembled and packaged in a clean environment in KIT form. It is not uncommon for annual production to exceed 250,000 assemblies, with many of those shipped abroad by our export department.
ISC has been the tier-one radiator supplier for backhoes
since 1996. As a result of experience and on-time delivery, ISC was awarded additional radiator projects for backhoes in Europe and South America. This is a testament to ISC quality, as well as our ability to keep production costs to a minimum. Due to the logistics involved, rejected assemblies would have removed the profitability of this project. ISC works very closely with our suppliers to develop local and foreign materials as well as supply plans. Analyzing BOMs, tier two suppliers, inbound and outbound logistics and packaging gives us the ability to provide the end customer with the most efficient and cost effective assembly module.
Since 1997,
ISC has been providing loader controls for front buckets for backhoes shipped to major OEM customers in the USA, Europe and South America. We purchase all individual components, manage all vendors for that material, assemble the controls and then ship or export to our customers as required. During this time, the control has seen many changes, but ISC tier one assembly has always been both consistent and constant.
ISC was awarded this business in 2001, and as with radiators and loader controls, we provide the final assembly as a single part number to the customer, while we manage all individual component and assembly material purchases required for that assembly in the background. Again, as a testament to our ability to keep production costs down, we were awarded this project from a competitor by removing 10% from the existing pricing. This was accomplished through aggressive sourcing of new suppliers, innovative process improvements, and good use of internal resources, including the scheduling of both research and cost study analysis over a planned production shutdown period. As with many of our projects, these units too are shipped abroad though our export department.
Other projects on our resume include R.O.P. canopy assembly for crawler tractors. This is a complex assembly involving the purchase of many items from foreign vendors. It is also a new platform requiring extensive attention to detail. Although ISC has experienced many “fit or function” in-process engineering changes from our customer and suppliers, we have managed to deliver the product on time and with limited issues. The issues that do arise have been resolved with engineering changes and reworked supplier parts to meet those new specifications
